AFB Practice Roundtable: Review of the Implementation of the New APP Fraud Requirements

AFB will partner with Kroll for a practice roundtable focusing on how firms who provide services to retail customers have managed the implementation of the Authorised Push Payment (APP) Reimbursement Scheme. The requirements came into force on 7 October 2024 and apply to eligible payments made by a consumer where the payment is executed by a payment service provider (PSP) through either the Faster Payments scheme or CHAPS.

Why attend?

This roundtable will provide members with an opportunity to discuss the scope of the rules and the challenges and practical issues of the requirements.

AFB will circulate an agenda and series of questions to attendees in advance which will be used to aid discussions. The roundtable will focus on the key topics below:

  • Market challenges with implementation
  • Effectiveness of the rules
  • Reimbursement requirements
  • Vulnerable customers and the consumer standard of caution
  • Communication with customers
  • External reporting

The Chatham House Rule will apply to this event to encourage open dialogue and discussion.

There will be breakfast and networking from 08:30 before the roundtable discussion commences at 09:00.
