Virtual Seminar: An Introduction to ISDGP: International Standard Demand Guarantee Practice for URDG 758 (ISDGP)

The ICC Banking Commission approved the International Standard Demand Guarantee Practice for URDG 758 (ISDGP) on 31 March 2021 – are you prepared?

The current version of the Uniform Rules for Demand Guarantees (URDG 758) came into effect on 1 July 2010. Over the years, this has resulted in numerous enquires as to how the rules should be applied in practice. In reaction to these requests, the ICC announced that the ISDGP be drafted.

The AFB is delighted to partner with David Meynell, Senior Technical Advisor to the ICC who will provide the background and rationale to these new practices for our foreign bank members.

The easiest way to book your place is through the AFB’s automated events booking system on the website. Please note your username is your bank e-mail address and if you cannot recall your password, or have not yet set one up, you can click the ‘Recover you login details’ option on the login page and follow the instructions.

Why attend?

The emphasis of the ISDGP is to clarify best practices for actions that may occur throughout the lifecycle of a Demand Guarantee, including underlying relationships and independence of the guarantee, when the guarantee leaves the control of the guarantor, presentation, compliance, non-compliance and rejection of a demand, the effect of court orders and action to take, sanctions, and many other issues.

The focus of this seminar is to acquaint practitioners with the new ISDGP and underline the most crucial aspects.

What will participants learn as a result of this seminar?

Members will obtain a clearer understanding of how the practice is to be applied to the rules articulated in URDG 758.

Who should attend?

This seminar is aimed at professionals in Operations, Business, Finance, Trade Finance, legal and Risk.
