AFB Practice Roundtable: Beyond the First Filing – Managing Pillar Two Compliance in 2026 and Beyond

Many International banks are moving beyond their first Pillar Two (Global Minimum Tax or “GMT”) filing cycle, and attention is turning to the next phase of compliance. Experience from the first year has shown that data quality, legal entity governance, documentation and coordination between head office and local teams are often as important as the technical calculations themselves. As more jurisdictions implement Pillar Two and reporting requirements continue to evolve, early planning is critical to ensuring effective compliance and reducing execution risk.

This session, designed and facilitated by KPMG, will provide an opportunity for members to share experiences from the first filing cycle and discuss practical approaches for managing Pillar Two future compliance readiness.

Why attend?

This roundtable will focus discussions on:

  • Lessons Learned from the First Pillar Two Filing Cycle
  • Emerging Risks and Technical Developments
    • Under Taxed Profits Rules
    • New jurisdictions coming into scope
    • Transitional Safe Harbour developments and future expiry considerations
    • Local filing obligations and evolving guidance
  • Data, Governance and Operating Models
    • Coordination between head office, UK teams and overseas stakeholders
    • Documentation, audit trail and control expectations
  • Planning for FY25 Compliance
    • Key milestones and critical path to filing
    • Resource planning and use of technology
    • Opportunities to streamline compliance and reduce execution risk

AFB will circulate an agenda and a series of discussion points and questions in advance to those registered to attend.

The capacity for this roundtable is limited to 30 members, one person per member bank.  This ensures as many firms as possible can benefit from the discussions.  Please book early to avoid disappointment.

This roundtable is aimed at the following representatives from branches of AFB members: senior professionals responsible for Pillar Two compliance and governance, including Heads of Tax, International Tax Directors, Pillar Two leads, Finance Controllers, Regulatory Reporting leaders, Tax Technology specialists and other stakeholders involved in managing global minimum tax reporting and compliance obligations.
