AFB Seminar: Navigating a Changing FCPA/Anti-Corruption Enforcement Landscape

Earlier this year, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) paused the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) enforcement—only to return in May with new guidelines that reshape enforcement priorities and raise fresh questions for companies trading/doing business with and through the United States.

Join leading attorneys from Latham & Watkins for a session exploring how the updated framework is already influencing active cases in the U.S. and what it means for international banks.

Why attend?

You will gain expert insights on:

  • How and where to prioritise anti-corruption compliance under the new framework
  • Management of internal and government-facing investigations in light of the revised expectations
  • How to assess enforcement risks for firms and clients outside the U.S.
  • How these updates intersect with the DOJ’s expanded whistleblower rewards and voluntary self-disclosure programs
  • How this change to US FCPA enforcement may impact global anti-corruption enforcement

Who should attend?

This session is aimed at legal counsel, compliance officers, risk managers, and corporate executives responsible for anti-corruption and anti-fraud strategy for firms with a US nexus.

Speakers

Nathan Seltzer, former Global Vice Chair of the firm’s White-Collar Defence & Investigations Practice, works from the firm’s London and Washington, DC offices, and advises multinational companies on compliance matters and internal and government investigations with US law implications.

Erin Brown Jones, Deputy Office Managing Partner of Latham’s Washington, DC office, counsels clients in government-facing and internal investigations, proactive compliance, and white-collar transactional matters.
