AFB Practice Roundtable: Managing Geopolitical Risks in Risk Frameworks

With the changing geopolitical landscape increasingly impacting the operation of the financial system, AFB is convening an in-person roundtable in partnership with Deloitte. The discussion will explore how firms can adapt their risk frameworks to identify and mitigate emerging geopolitical risks and ensure that regulatory expectations are met.

Why attend?

Traditional risk models may struggle to capture novel exposures, particularly for institutions with international operations or complex cross-border dependencies. Drawing on their extensive experience in the financial services sector, Deloitte will share insights gained from supporting a range of banking institutions in refining their frameworks to capture a broader spectrum of emerging risks.

There will be opportunities for questions and discussion between participants. AFB will circulate an agenda and questions to attendees in advance to aid discussions.

The Chatham House Rule will apply to this event to encourage open dialogue and discussion.

There will be refreshments and networking from 08:30 before the roundtable discussion commences at 09:00.

Please note that capacity for the roundtable is limited to 30 members and one person per member bank to ensure as many firms as possible can benefit from the discussions.

Who should attend?

The roundtable is aimed at representatives from Risk and Business functions at AFB member banks.
