AFB Practice Roundtable: T+1 Accelerated Settlement – Achieving Front-to-Back Readiness

T+1 accelerated settlement will significantly compress timelines across the end-to-end execution-to-settlement chain. The FCA expects firms to have completed their initial impact assessments by 2025 and to begin implementation. As this change spans clients, market infrastructure, vendors, and service providers, and affects front-to-back processes, T+1 is a franchise-wide issue, not just a narrow operations change.

AFB, in partnership with PwC, invites members to attend an in-person roundtable focused on the implications of T+1 accelerated settlement for non-UK banks, designed for discussion among senior peers.

Why attend?

This roundtable provides an opportunity for AFB representatives to explore the topic with peers and subject‑matter experts, compare perspectives on the impact on the market, clients, the execution-to-settlement cycle, and liquidity and risk as the industry transitions to new requirements. The roundtable will discuss:

  • Franchise risks and opportunities – client engagement and proactive T+0 fails prevention; funding, liquidity and inventory management implications; post‑trade uplifts to systems and processes; and workforce impacts
  • Industry Testing & Readiness – share insights on coordinated testing efforts, market infrastructure preparedness, and lessons learned from the US
  • Operational Resilience in T+1 – examine strategies to strengthen resilience, manage exceptions, and ensure smooth transitions under compressed timelines

There will be opportunities for discussion with other attendees as well as PwC. The AFB will circulate an agenda and series of questions to attendees in advance, which will be used to aid discussions.

The Chatham House Rule will apply to encourage open dialogue.

There will be breakfast and networking from 08:30 before the roundtable discussion commences at 09:00.

Please note that the capacity for the roundtable is limited to 30 members and one person per bank.

Who should attend?

This session is aimed at senior member representatives in Risk, Compliance, Operations and Finance teams, including Heads of Markets / Fixed Income / Equities, Country or Regional COOs, Heads of Operations, Heads of Securities Services / Custody, Heads of Treasury / Intraday Liquidity, CIO / CTO for Markets, and CRO / CCO.
