AFB Seminar – ISO 20022 – 12 Months to Go

AFB will partner with StoneX Payments and Swift for an in-person seminar focussed on ISO 20022. During this session, experts from StoneX and Swift will provide an update on the next steps for implementation and how member firms can benefit.

This session is aimed at member banks who are considering how to take advantage of this new data dictionary and how standardised, structured and rich data can improve operational efficiency.

Why attend?

The seminar will focus on the status of the ISO 20022 migration and will provide details of the key next steps so you can meet the deadlines and fully maximise the benefits of the new standard.  With 12 months to go, the pressure is ramping up to be ready for the migration and have up to date information on how to best manage the changes to the coexistence period. 

Swift will provide an update on ISO 20022 readiness and adoption. This will be followed by a panel discussion that will discuss the challenges and lessons learned from the migration, including industry perspectives from StoneX Payments.

Speakers

Simon Jones, Global Head of Technology, part of StoneX Payments

Simon leads the development of innovative cross-border payment solutions across global markets including Europe, APAC, and the US. StoneX technology teams are in Poland, Germany, UK, India, Singapore the US and Brazil. Our team in Poland are currently building out a state-of-the-art modern FX Trading and pricing system leveraging Mongo DB on Azure to interface via API to StoneX global network of banks Corporates and NGO clients.

With over 22 years of experience in the field, Simon has previously directed Deutsche Bank’s Cash Transformation group, focusing on significant cash management initiatives, and maintaining the bank’s leadership in EUR clearing. His extensive leadership spans multiple global teams and projects, emphasizing transformative payment solutions such as Instant Payments and ISO20022 migrations. The strategic Payment solution was built using temporal and MongoDB. Simon is a seasoned leader passionate about leveraging technology to advance payment and FX solutions.

Edward Phelps, Head of Sales Strategy, StoneX Technology Services, part of StoneX Payments

Having previously worked for Swift in a strategy capacity and Ebury in a sales role, Edward brings a blend of experience from the banking and payments worlds. 

Samer Musharbash, Banking Segment Lead, Swift
Samer is responsible for leading and driving strategic engagements with Swift’s banking clients and industry associations in the UKI region.

Prior to Swift, Samer spent 16 years working for HSBC and Citibank across various functions in relationship management, programme management, product management and technology.
