AFB members are invited to attend an in-person seminar on the impact of US, UK and EU export controls and trade sanctions. This event is being held in partnership with the international law firm, Skadden.
In light of the evolving geo-political and legal landscape, this session will focus on recent key developments in the US that will impact banks and regulated firms operating in the UK.
Why attend?
The session will give an overview of the US, UK and EU export controls and trade sanctions. This session is timely given the significant changes in foreign policy introduced by the Trump Administration, recent guidance from the US government focusing on its expectations for banks in relation to export controls, and the establishment of the Office of Trade Sanctions Implementation in the UK.

Speakers
Eytan Fisch
Eytan is Partner at Skadden’s Washington D.C. office and formerly held a variety of senior positions at the U.S. Department of Treasury, including in the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). Eytan advises clients on regulatory and enforcement matters, with a focus on economic sanctions, anti-money laundering, fintech, blockchain and virtual currency matters.
Brian Egan
Brian is Partner at Skadden’s Washington D.C. office and formerly held a variety of senior positions in the U.S. federal government, in the National Security Council, Department of State, Department of Treasury, and the White House. Brian advises export controls, economic sanctions, CFIUS, and other national security matters for clients across a wide range of business sectors and jurisdictions.
Jonathan Benson
Jonathan is a Counsel at Skadden’s London office, having previously served as a senior lawyer in the U.K. Department for International Trade and the U.K. Ministry of Defence. Jonathan has extensive experience advising complex sanctions, export controls, national security, business compliance and trade-related matters.
