AFB Practice Workshop: Managing Data Breaches – Developing an Incident Response Strategy

This workshop is designed as an immersive experience where attendees are thrust into the heart of a data breach crisis. Led by Mishcon de Reya, this interactive workshop is designed to simulate the high-pressure environment of a live data breach, unfolding in real-time. It will focus on practical examples and enhance your crisis management skills while working alongside peers from other international banks.

Why attend?

As the digital landscape evolves, so does the complexity of data breaches. With the recent surge in cyber incidents, it is crucial to be prepared for the unexpected. This tabletop exercise will provide members with an opportunity to:

 1) Experience a Data Breach Simulation:

  • Navigate the twists and turns of a data breach as it happens. Real correspondence from threat actors will be used

 2) Collaborate on Critical Decisions:

  • Work together with other attendees to make key decisions in response to the breach

 3) Understand the Legal and Regulatory Implications:

  • Explore the legal consequences and regulatory reporting obligations

 4) Develop Incident Response Strategies:

  • Formulate effective strategies to mitigate the impact of the breach and understand what you might need to include in your internal policies to prepare

 5) Manage Communication Challenges:

  • Learn how to handle internal and external communications during a crisis

 6) Assess the Aftermath:

  • Consider the long-term effects on the organisation and steps for recovery

Who should attend?

This session is designed for General Counsel, Senior Compliance Officers, IT Directors, and Senior Executives who are involved in safeguarding their organisations against data breaches and managing the fallout.
