AFB Practice Roundtable: UK Market Abuse Regulation (MAR) – Key Risks and Future Reform

AFB is pleased to invite members to a practice roundtable examining the UK Market Abuse Regulation (UK MAR), its fundamental principles, practical application and the direction of future reform.

UK MAR remains a cornerstone of the UK’s market integrity framework. Firms continue to face complex questions around inside information, market soundings, insider lists, market manipulation and disclosure obligations, whilst keeping pace with ongoing regulatory developments. Led by Rob Moulton, partner at Latham & Watkins, this roundtable will allow members to explore both the legal requirements and practical judgements that non-UK headquartered firms must make on a day-to-day basis.

Why attend?

The roundtable will focus on how UK MAR operates in practice, the key risks that firms encounter, and the evolving regulatory landscape as HM Treasury and the FCA continue their review of the UK MAR regime.

The session will be interactive, with members encouraged to share experiences and discuss real-life challenges in implementing UK MAR requirements across their organisations.

AFB will circulate an agenda and a series of questions to attendees in advance, which will be used to aid discussions.

The Chatham House Rule will apply to this event to encourage open dialogue and discussion.

Please note that there will be a limit of one representative per AFB member to allow a wider range of firms to attend and benefit from the discussion.

Who should attend?

This roundtable will be of particular interest to compliance, legal, conduct risk, surveillance, regulatory affairs, and front-office professionals at AFB member banks responsible for managing market abuse risks and MAR compliance.
