As international banks continue to deploy talent across jurisdictions, managing globally mobile employees has become increasingly complex. Organisations must navigate evolving immigration requirements, employment obligations, tax and social security compliance, regulatory expectations and employee experience considerations, often across multiple countries and stakeholder groups.
In this session, specialists from Moore Kingston Smith’s Global Mobility Services team will provide a practical overview of the key considerations for organisations managing employees working cross-border, with a particular focus on HM Revenue & Customs’ (HMRC) increasing scrutiny of globally mobile employees and the growing level of compliance activity in this area.
Why attend?
With authorities increasing their focus on globally mobile employees, organisations need to ensure their tax, payroll, HR and immigration processes remain effective, compliant and fit for purpose.
The seminar will cover the areas currently attracting the most HMRC attention, including the tax treatment of visa and immigration costs, short-term business visitors to the UK, remote and hybrid working arrangements, and general PAYE and social security obligations. The session will highlight practical steps employers can take to manage risk and strengthen compliance.
It will also cover the most commonly used immigration routes available to employers seeking UK work authorisation for employees, compliance activity, and helping firms understand the wider global mobility implications of supporting international mobility into the UK. This session will be particularly valuable for organisations looking to strengthen compliance, improve internal processes and better manage the complexities associated with a globally mobile workforce.
Who should attend?
This session is aimed at those responsible for supporting internationally mobile employees, including those working in finance, tax, and HR departments.
