PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) (BNI) was established in 1946 as a state-owned bank. BNI operates primarily in Indonesia providing retail, private, business, corporate and investment banking products and services. BNI has been present in London since 1985. In 2006 BNI London became a wholesale bank specializing in loans, trade finance, treasury and remittances, with particular emphasis in promoting trade and businesses between Indonesia, the United Kingdom and EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa). Currently, BNI London is the only Indonesian bank operating in the UK with a branch status.
